Lincoln Corsair Production Increased In March 2024

After receiving a refresh for the 2023 model year, the Lincoln Corsair faced its fair share of production issues early last year, right alongside its mass market counterpart, the Ford Escape, largely due a problem discovered early in the process pertaining to the software in its digital instrument cluster. However, FoMoCo soon had that sorted out and production of both crossovers at the Louisville Assembly plant ramped up shortly thereafter. Now, after a solid month of output in February, Lincoln Corsair production also increased in March as well, according to FoMoCo’s Q1 2024 sales report.

In February, Lincoln Corsair production at the Louisville plant totaled 3,151 units, which was 116 units or around 3.8 percent higher than January’s total of 3,035 units. Things continued to improve in March as well, increasing by 369 units or nearly 12 percent to 3,520. As for the Escape, it also received a boost last month, hitting 18,368 units – which is 2,896 or 18.7 percent more than February.

Interestingly, the Escape did receive some notable updates for the 2024 model year, including the Base trim becoming a fleet-only offering, the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad being dropped from the lineup (but it’s still available as a dealer-installed option), the factory navigation option was reduced from three years to one, and a handful of color changes have taken place as well.

Finally, the 2024 Escape gets one new exterior color – Race Red – which is exclusively available on the Active and fleet-only Base trim, though two other colors have been deleted from the lineup as part of the model year changeover – Cinnabar Red Metallic and Atlas Blue Metallic. However, this wasn’t the case with the Escape’s more luxurious twin. In fact, the 2024 Lincoln Corsair carries over completely unchanged for the new model year, and it even retains its factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad.
