The NASCAR Ford teams fought hard at Dover Motor Speedway on April 28th, 2024, scrapping with ill-handling race cars and faster competitors during the Cup Series race, but a few Blue Oval drivers had solid results to show for it.
Noah Gragson posted the best result in the Ford stable, bringing his No. 10 Mustang Dark Horse across the line in sixth, his best finish of the season so far. Dover isn’t an easy track to conquer, but Gragson said he felt quite good after getting out of the car.
“I feel a lot better than I thought I would,” Gragson said after the race. “It’s my first 400-mile race here… coming home sixth, the car drove pretty good there at the end, we got some good track position but fought hard all day.”
Gragson was followed by fellow Ford racer, Ryan Blaney, who fought with his No. 12 Mustang all day to cross the line in seventh. Blaney said he was pretty worn out, but he was proud of his team’s effort.
“Just kind of a long, blue-collar day, really,” Blaney said after the race. “Ran top 10 all day, and led a little bit early and we kinda fell off. The track changed a little bit and other guys got better than us. We faded, but I thought we got a little better at the end… proud of the effort.”
Gragson and Blaney were the only two NASCAR Ford teams to finish inside the top 10. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Toyota TRD Camry, won his third race of the season.
