In recent years, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has proven to be appealing to a number of fleets, and we’ve seen the EV crossover join the ranks of entities such as the FBI Police, the London Ambulance Service, the Dearborn Police Department, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and New York City, to name just a few. Much of this popularity revolves around the lower operating costs that EVs, in general, offer commercial customers, and thus, it’s no surprise to learn that Clark County, Nevada, is officially joining this list, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Clark County officials have green-lighted the purchase of 57 new Ford Mustang Mach-E crossovers from Gaudin Ford, which will cost it around $2 million dollars collectively. Around half of those new EVs – all Select trimmed-models – will replace existing vehicles within the county fleet, with the other half going to additional supplemental staff positions. Of that total, 55 Mach-Es will be used by the Clark County Department of Family Services, with the last two going to the Department of Environment and Sustainability.
“This EV vehicle was chosen over traditional internal combustion-powered vehicles in an effort to work toward the sustainable transportation goals outlined in the All In Clark County Sustainable Climate Action Plan,” said Clark County spokesperson Erik Pappa. “Other manufacturers were not chosen due to their EV models not being in production for government fleet purchases.”
As Ford Authority recently reported, commercial customers continue to seek out all-electric vehicles at a high rate, even as retail consumer demand has waned bit over the past few months. Ford CEO Jim Farley admitted that “EV adoption on Pro is actually going much better than we thought,” noting that these customers “use the vehicles more intensely, so the operating cost advantages on the energy side are much better, much better than they thought.”

Wow, $35,000/each!! Such a deal!! I guess Ford gives them away to certain customers?
You make a good point. That is a great price. I guess that was the price in 2021 and 2022 for all buyers, if you bought the base model (which they are) and got the $7.5k IRS tax credit. Yep, was $35k until they lost the IRS tax credit. But if Ford sources batteries from a free trade partner soon, the price will go back to $35k for anyone. And the IRS tax credit is now available immediately at point of sale, so its like an incentive, you do not have to wait until you file your taxes the next year.
