The exterior color options for the 2024 Ford Maverick received a significant shakeup when four colors were stricken from the list, while two new colors called Azure Gray Metallic and Terrain joined the lineup in their stead. Now, two colors that were previously available for all three Maverick trimd have become fleet-only options.
Carbonized Gray Metallic (paint code M7) and Iconic Silver Metallic (paint code JS) are now only offered to fleet customers, meaning they are not available for retail customers who purchase a 2024 Ford Maverick. Both colors were introduced for the 2022 model year as no-cost options for the Maverick XL, XLT and Lariat trims, and continued to be offered on the 2023 Maverick for no extra cost.
That means six of the eight colors offered for the Maverick are still available for retail customers. As a reminder, the following list represents all exterior colors available for the 2024 Ford Maverick:
- Atlas Blue Metallic (B3)
- Cactus Gray (NE)
- Oxford White (YZ)
- Shadow Black (G1)
- Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7) (fleet only)
- Iconic Silver Metallic (JS) (fleet only)
- Terrain (VA) (new for 2024)
- Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat (G4) (new for 2024)
Aside from paint colors, the 2024 Ford Maverick received substantial updates. As Ford Authority reported last year, the compact pickup dropped the 2.5L I4 hybrid engine as its standard engine option in favor of the 2.0L EcoBoost I4, which is now standard across the lineup. The Lariat trim also underwent quite a few changes, gaining standard packages and features that were previously optional, while the off-road-focused Tremor replaced the optional appearance package with standard decals.
However, the compact pickup did lose its SecuriCode keypad, although owners interested in the security feature can still opt to have it installed at the dealer. The 2024 Ford Maverick has also dropped its manual siding rear window and windshield wiper de-icer, too.
Pricing for the 2024 Maverick starts at $23,400 for the base XL trim, which is slightly more expensive than its 2023 model year counterpart. Production of the compact pickup commenced at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico in October 2023.

Hot Pepper Red is on my 2024 Maverick but not on the list.
Mine is on order in hot pepper red?
Yet another stupid decision by the been counters! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ 7 colors?!! 7 total colors to choose from? What a freaking joke!! And of these 7, ONE blue, ONE red, and several shades of grey & black with a white & Terrain. That’s it!! Totally embarrassing!!
What happened to offering a bunch of colors (more than 8 at least) that were all available? Want to know what’s crazy? Some manufacturers actually give their customers a good selection of choices. My wife owns a 2020 Lotus Evora GT. Yeah, totally not relevant, but for this discussion yes it is. In their brochure, they offered 29 different colors!! 29!!! And then you had “Bespoke” choices at certain dealers, which from what I’ve found out, are easily a dozen more.
Ford, wake up. This isn’t the beginning of the company where Henry said “any color as long as it’s black”. People want choices. The car they drive is an extension of their personality. And yes, I own a Maverick. 2023 XLT Lux Package Hybrid in Atlas Blue. LOVE the color. But give the buyer a choice of more than 4 shades of white/grey/black with a few “actual” colors. Do better!!
To be fair the Evora GT has a base price of 84K not the same as a car with a base MSRP of almost 24K. I think for special trims they should offer a different color like for the Tremor package or the FX4 but they’re pumping out thousands of orders of these trucks a month they don’t have time to be painting special colors just because customers are willing to pay more money for it.
Bring back velocity blue and I would be happy
Atlas is a much nicer blue. Make Eruption green available.
A red, a blue, and a few shades of gray is basically most vehicles on sale today.
I’m sure they are selling what people will actually buy in large enough numbers to bother with.
WHY CAN’T YOU LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE ? ONE OF THE TWO COLORS YOU REMOVED WAS GOING TO BE MY FINAL CHOICE FOR A MAVERICK !
GOOD LUCK GENIUSES !!!
I was able to find one still on the train last year and I took it. It was white, not my choice, but I love it now! Perfect truck! A hybrid, and getting 37 mpg!🤗👍
I love our 2022 for XLT, it’s a beautiful truck. And I absolutely love the velocity blue. im very happy with my Maverick runs great!
