While it may not have as much to offer in terms of performance compared to the second-generation model, the original Ford F-150 SVT Lightning was still a bit of a revelation that has endeared itself to Blue Oval fans and celebrities like. As such, it’s a common sight on collector car auction sites across the web, with nice examples like a 1,200-mile 1993 and a 40k-mile 1994 crossing the block lately, along with one modified for off-road purposes. Now, this 1994 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning joins that group, as it’s up for grabs at Bring a Trailer with just 26k miles on the clock.
As one of just 4,007 examples produced for the 1994 model year, this Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is also likely one of the nicest, given its low mileage total. As such, its Ebony Black paint sports only a few minor imperfections, and the bed was actually used to haul things, though it was repainted to cover up the resulting scratches. Otherwise, there aren’t too many bones to pick on the outside.
The same goes for the interior, which has no noted flaws and is fitted with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Opal Gray cloth seats with embroidered Lightning logos on the backrests, a center console with cupholders, a cassette stereo, keyless entry, an anti-theft system, air conditioning, and cruise control.
Of course, the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is all about performance, and it delivers that via the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.8L V8 Windsor powerplant with cast-iron GT40 heads that was factory rated to generate 240 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with 4.10 gears. Given its stellar condition and low mileage total, we expect this Lightning to conjure up plenty of interest at auction, and it certainly deserves nothing less.
