Gone but not forgotten, the luxurious Lincoln Town Car is enjoying a bit of a revival courtesy of various online collector car auctions as of late. We’ve seen quite a few nice, low-mile examples of the big sedan cross the virtual block in recent weeks, including a 14k-mile 1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature, as well as a 1992 Town Car limo with a mere 20k miles on the clock, in fact. Now, they’ve been joined by this – a 1997 Lincoln Tow Car Cartier Series that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
This 1997 Lincoln Town Car Cartier Series has around 62k miles showing on the odometer, but it remains in mostly flawless condition, regardless. In fact, the seller notes just one minor blemish marring its Cordovan Clearcoat Metallic paint – which is present on the hood – while the tires will also need to be replaced, as they bear 2007 date codes. Otherwise, there are quite literally no bones to pick pertaining to the exterior of this classy sedan.
The same is true of the Cordovan leather interior, which only shows the typical wear one would expect to find in a vehicle of this vintage. It’s also chock full of amenities that include woodgrain trim, a multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, digital instrumentation, heated power-adjustable front seats with driver position memory, a trunk-mounted 10-disc CD changer, a cassette stereo, a JBL audio system, an anti-theft system, automatic climate control, and Cartier Series branding on the backrests, door pulls, and rear vanity mirrors.
Power for this Lincoln Town Car comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to generate 210 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. In excellent shape and as a desirable trim, this Town Car figures to conjure up plenty of interest at auction – as it should, honestly.

One of the most reliable vehicle Ford has ever made, however, you have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery than Ford resuming production of this reliable vehicle.
