Long a favorite of contractors and pretty much anybody else who needs a heavy-duty workhorse, the Ford Super Duty and its predecessors have also recently become a bit of a hot collectible, with numerous examples surfacing for sale at auction. That list includes a pair of pre-Super Duty F-250 trucks – a 1995 model with 21k miles on the clock and a ’95 XLT with a mere 8k miles – along with a newer 2004 Super Duty chassis cab model that has only been driven 13 miles. Now, those trucks have been joined by this 21k-mile 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
This lightly-used 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty is an XLT-trimmed example in Crew Cab configuration with four-wheel drive, and it certainly hasn’t been driven much – unlike pretty much every one of its peers. The truck is finished in standard contractor white on the outside, though that paint is marred by some imperfections such as scratches and paint chips, and the CarFax shows that it suffered some damage to its right rear section at some point.
Regardless, the rather basic interior remains in solid condition with no noted flaws, though not too many amenities, either. There’s a cloth-covered seat up front that’s power-adjustable on the driver’s side, along with power windows and locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and a CD/cassette stereo – but not much else to speak of.
This particular Ford F-250 Super Duty is also powered by the 6.8L V10 Triton gas engine, originally rated to produce 275 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, which it sends to the wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Coming from New Jersey, there’s some corrosion present underneath, but for those willing to overlook these imperfections, this Super Duty might just be a solid find at the right price.
