The last-generation Ford Thunderbird continues to pop up at collector car auctions and generate considerable interest, which isn’t a huge surprise given its retro, concept car-like styling. Recently, we’ve seen a number of nice, modern T-Birds cross the block, a list that includes a 54-mile 2002 model, the 2002 Supercharged Thunderbird concept, a James Bond 007 Edition, and even a 2002 that fetched $8k at auction even though it had 276k miles on the odometer. Now, this 2004 Ford Thunderbird Pacific Coast Roadster adds another intriguing option to this list, courtesy of Hagerty.
With 83k miles on the clock, this 2004 Ford Thunderbird isn’t exactly what one might call a super low-mile ride, but it’s in nice condition, regardless. As a Pacific Coast Roadster, it sports the unique color dubbed Monterey Mist Green on the outside with an Ash Metallic hard top, along with a Light and Dark Ash leather interior. Overall, Ford built just 1,000 Pacific Coast Roadster T-Birds, and this is example 346, too.
The two-owner T-Bird has some flaws to note, which include a few minor paint chips and dents, some imperfections in the paint due to it sitting outside under a car cover, and a mysterious damage report from 2011. However, it also has plenty in the way of amenities such as dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, cruise control, an anti-theft system, a six-disc CD changer, and all the requisite power accessories.
Power – as is the case with all Thunderbirds from this generation – comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 3.9L V8, which produced 280 horsepower from the factory. It sends that power to the rear wheels via the SelectShift five-speed automatic transmission, too. If nothing else, it isn’t every day that we see Ford Thunderbird Pacific Coast Roadster models pop up for sale, and that makes this one special for that reason alone.

These cars, which seemed a bit underwhelming when introduced have aged nicely. Unlike say the Chevy SSR of that generation which looks cartoonish, the T-bird looks classy and somewhat formal while being sporty. Drop a new Coyote under the hood and it would be perfect!
