2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT Coupe Up For Auction

Those looking to purchase a Ford Mustang Shelby from the S197 generation typically have plenty to choose from, as we’ve featured a diverse list of those types of pony cars as of late. That rather varied list includes a 2007 H281 Heritage Coupe, a 2008 Shelby Turbo prototype, as well as a pair of low-mile GT500s – a 2007 and a 2008. Now, those models have been joined by this 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT coupe that has a mere 8,500 miles on the clock and is up for grabs at Cars & Bids.

As one might expect given its low mileage total, this Ford Mustang Shelby GT coupe is in mostly excellent condition, save for a couple of blemishes marring its paint. Otherwise, there are plenty of distinguishing features that set it apart from the regular GT on which it’s based. On the outside, that list includes the Shelby Appearance Package, which added a hood scoop, hood pins, silver racing stripes, a billet front grille insert, Shelby and “Powered by Ford” badging, a rear spoiler delete, and 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels.

The special touches continue inside with a serial numbered dash plaque, Shelby GT aluminum door sill plates, and Shelby floor mats to go along with the factory leather interior. Underneath, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT features the Ford Racing Handling Package with revised front and rear dampers, lowering springs, sway bars at both ends, and a strut tower brace.

Power for this Shelby GT comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this case has been treated to a 90mm cold air intake, upgraded mufflers, a performance tune, and an X-pipe exhaust, enabling it to churn out 319 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque via a five-speed manual gearbox. If nothing else, this Ford Mustang Shelby GT may wind up selling for less than a comparable GT500, making it a potentially good deal depending on collector interest.

  1. Amazing how far we’ve come in a relatively short time. This was a Shelby V8 with an upgraded 4.6. Now, the 2.3 EB I-4 has roughly the same HP and more torque.

    1. But it doesn’t sound as good

    2. This wasn’t that impressive. The 4.6 has been making 305-320 from 96-04. Also the mustang 2.3 still sadly is well behind the 2016 Focus RS 350hp. Fords engines have been pretty stagnant since 2015-2017 other than the 5.0
