2021-2023 Ford F-150 Black Painted Grille Now Available

With the popularity of black appearance packages soaring in recent years, Ford began offering black versions of its famous oval as well, starting with a factory piece for the 2020 Ford Super Duty Lariat Sport Package, which was later added to the automaker’s catalog as an accessory for that pickup, as well as the Ford Ranger and Ford F-150, plus a black Ford Performance badge, and – most recently – a black oval for the current-generation 2023-2024 Super Duty as well. Now, those that prefer this darker look can also order a black-painted front grille for the 2021-2023 Ford F-150, too.

Listed in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-8200-F15A, this new black-painted grille is designed to fit 2021-2023 Ford F-150 pickups with or without front cameras. Customers that wish to pair it with a black oval can also do so under part numbers M-1447-F15B for models without a front camera, or M-1447-FBC1 for those that do have that particular option. As one might imagine, this painted front grille doesn’t fit the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150, however.

Otherwise, this new 2021-2023 Ford F-150 black painted grille is essentially just the OEM part that’s been painted, well, in gloss black, giving it a more stealthy, menacing appearance versus something like traditional chrome. The part is available to purchase now, and retails for $360.

Ultimately, this new black-painted grille is just the latest such addition to Ford’s catalog, which has grown exponentially in recent years. The automaker is cleaning keen to capitalize on the popularity of black trim pieces – even if it represents a big break in tradition, as is the case with the aforementioned black ovals – but as is typically the case, consumer demand more than warrants these changes.
