As most Blue Oval fans are well aware, the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ford F-150 Raptor come equipped with the beloved BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tire, which has long been a favorite among those that venture off the beaten path. FoMoCo has long favored that particular tire for its capabilities in that regard, which is precisely why it equips its more capable off-roaders with it as well. However, the time has come to turn the page and introduce an updated version – the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 – which has now officially launched as well.
The all-new, redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger already comes from the factory with the new BFGoodrich KO3 rubber, and now, everyone else can purchase that same tire as well. As was the case with the KO2, the KO3 continues its evolution as BFGoodrich aims to utilize the very latest in terms of tire technology to provide the best possible performance both on and off the pavement. In that vein, the KO3 features a new tread pattern and compound, improved sidewall toughness, a serrated shoulder design, and Mud-Phobic Bars, all of which are designed to offer better wear performance, improved gravel road durability, and superior traction in the snow.
The new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 will eventually be available in over 100 sizes over the next couple of years, starting with 13 sizes this month. An additional 17 will be added in August, followed by five in October, 52 sizes in 2025, and 19 in 2026.
“BFGoodrich Tires’ legendary toughness has been made tougher with the creation of the All-Terrain KO3 tire,” said Harold Phillips, BFGoodrich Global General Manager. “We’ve done a lot of racing and research in the 10 years since we launched the KO2 tire, so a decade of data, feedback, technology and experience went into the development of the KO3 tire. We are our own competition, and we knew it was time to take the all-terrain tire to another level. It will be exciting to see what consumers will do – at work and at play – with the KO3 tire.”
