Ford Announces Personnel Changes For South America

After ceasing manufacturing operations in Brazil a few years ago, Ford South America has undergone a wide array of changes as the automaker looks to revamp its business in that part of the world. Since then, the South American Blue Oval lineup has undergone a major revamp with the addition of multiple models, all while Ford has sold off its old, shuttered production plants in Brazil. Now, the automaker has announced a few personnel changes in that same region, too.

For starters, Rogelio Golfarb has decided to retire from his position as vice president of Government Affairs and Communications of Ford South America, though he will continue to serve as a consultant for the automaker. Carlos Galmarini, the current director of Communications and Government Affairs of Ford Argentina, will now take over as director of Government Affairs of Ford South America, reporting to Martin Galdeano, president and CEO of Ford South America.

Leonardo D’Ugo has been named Ford’s new Manager of Government Affairs of Ford Argentina, while Pamela Paiffer will take over as the Director of Communications and Public Relations of Ford South America. Finally, Osvaldo Santi, the current general manager of Communications of Ford Argentina, has assumed the responsibility of Corporate Communication, Product, Public Relations and Internal Communications.

These changes come amid a flurry of activity that began after Ford announced that it would no longer be building vehicles in Brazil back in 2021. It took more than two years to sell off its production facilities there, but in the meantime, Ford South America has enjoyed a tremendous sales boost, largely stemming from models that it’s importing into the market from other parts of the globe.
