Ford Bronco Sport Production Increased In April 2024

Ford Bronco Sport production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant has experienced its fair share of ups and downs over the past several months, increasing by 14.6 percent in December, rising 16.6 percent in January, and then dipping 12 percent in February and 20 percent in March. That trend did wind up reversing course in the month of April, however, as Ford Bronco Sport production wound up increasing month-over-month following two consecutive months of declines, according to The Blue Oval’s latest sales report.

Ford Bronco Sport production at Hermosillo declined in a rather large manner to 11,389 units in March – a decrease of 2,832 units or just a touch under 20 percent. However, the crossover bounced back in April after FoMoCo built a total of 15,572 units, which is an increase of 4,183 units, or a pretty substantial 37 percent. As for the Ford Maverick – which is built alongside the Ford Bronco Sport at Hermosillo – it also enjoyed a big bounce back last month, reaching an all-time high with 17,669 being produced over that timeframe.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has been treated to a few notable updates in the crossover’s fourth year of production. For starters, the Heritage Limited has been dropped from the lineup, along with the entry-level Base trim, though Ford has also added two other interesting variants for the new model year – the Black Appearance Package and the retro-themed Free Wheeling model.

Additionally, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport lineup has dropped its factory-installed keyless entry keypad, instead making it a dealer-installed option, along with its windshield wiper de-icer. As is usually the case with model year transitions, the 2024 Bronco Sport marks a few changes to its available exterior color palette, ditching a grand total of four choices as well – though at least a couple have been replaced by new hues.
