Ford Maverick Production Reaches All-Time High In April 2024

In high demand and short supply ever since it launched for the 2022 model year, the Ford Maverick recently enjoyed a big boost in sales in the month of January following some enhancements at the Hermosillo Assembly plant that led to a huge jump in terms of production figures. However, that didn’t last long, as Ford Maverick production at Hermosillo wound up decreasing in the month of February, and that trend also continued into March as well. This dip was somewhat surprisingly followed up by the best month of production the Ford Maverick has ever seen in April, however, as we learned from the automaker’s latest sales report.

In January, Ford built 16,269 units of its popular compact pickup, which was 5,495 units or 51 percent more than December – and it also helped contribute to a robust 98.39 percent year-over-year sales increase in January to kick off the new year, too. That marked the best month of Maverick production to date, though things took a turn for the worse in February, as Ford Maverick production tumbled to 14,316 units, a decrease of 1,953 units or or 12 percent.

Somewhat surprisingly, that downward trend continued in March as well, as 13,156 Ford Maverick pickups rolled off the assembly line in Mexico that month, which was a month-over-month decrease of 1,160 units, or just over eight percent. However, The Blue Oval bounced right back in April, churning out 17,669 Ford Maverick pickups – an increase of 4,513 units or a whopping 34 percent.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Ford Maverick received a few changes for the new model year, including the fact that the hybrid powertrain is no longer standard equipment, while the manual sliding rear window and windshield wiper de-icer have been deleted and the keyless entry keypad is now a dealer-installed option, changes that have been accompanied by a price increase across the lineup as well.
