Over the past couple of years, the Ford Middle East division has added a number of models to its growing portfolio, a list that includes the Ford Territory, Ford Taurus, and all three Raptor models, which will soon be joined by a number of unspecified EVs as well. Even though Ford Middle East has undergone some executive changes of late – including naming Ravi Ravichandran as its new president – sales in that part of the world continue to grow as a result, the automaker has revealed.
In the first quarter of 2024, Ford Middle East posted a year-over-year sales increase of 29 percent, which also happens to be its highest quarterly mark since Q2 2016, while also growing its market share by 0.5 percent in that market. The Territory played a big role in that growth after becoming Ford’s best-selling SUV in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE a mere 18 months after its launch. Additionally, the Everest set its own personal record for best monthly sales in March, while the Taurus also proved to be a strong seller, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
“While our sales and market share grew over the first quarter of 2024, we continued our close collaboration with our valued distributor partners,” Ravichandran said of this result. “Our remarkable Q1 performance is a testament to the effectiveness of our Distributor Center of Excellence model – which has been instrumental in driving our business turnaround. By collaborating strategically with our distributor partners, we’ve been able to prioritize customer satisfaction, streamline operations, and uphold a culture of excellence across the region.” At the same time, Ravichandran also noted that Ford Middle East remains focused on continuing this growth through the remainder of 2024 and beyond.
“We aim to leverage growth opportunities offered by new nameplates such as the all-new Ford Everest and Lincoln Nautilus,” he said. “We’re focused on maintaining the positive momentum we’ve witnessed with Territory, in addition to getting ready to bring a new Ford F-150 to the region. Ford Middle East will continue developing a robust sales and production plan for 2025, while also prioritizing customer satisfaction as a key pillar of our strategy – we recognize that customers are our biggest advocates, and will always strive to treat them like family.”

That Taurus is sharp. I hope that by the time I wear out my Buick TourX, a Ford Taurus wagon magically reappears in the U.S. of A. I’ll keep dreaming.
A Buick tore-x is still on the road? My God, a 25 year old Taurus wagon would be easier to keep going.
Keep dreaming about your Chinese station wagon. I’m sure it’d be an upgrade over that halfbreed car you’re stuck with now
