Ford Ranger Production Increased In April 2024

Though it launched in select global markets quite some time ago, the all-new 2024 Ford Ranger didn’t debut for North America until May 2023. However, for several months, production of that model remained severely constrained, and in fact, deliveries of the redesigned mid-size pickup didn’t actually begin until just a few weeks ago. Regardless, 2024 Ford Ranger production at the Michigan Assembly plant has been ramping up quite a bit over the past couple of months, and that continued to be the case in April, according to Ford’s latest sales report.

As the new year kicked off in January, 2,644 2024 Ford Ranger pickups were built at MAP, which represented an increase of 2,242 units, or 558 percent, compared to December 2023. That number grew to 2,871 units in February – an increase of 227 units, or around 8.6 percent – before really ramping up in March, as Ford built a total of 6,707 Ranger pickups that month – an increase of 3,836 units or 134 percent. This upward trend continued in April as well, with 7,590 2024 Ford Ranger pickups emerging from MAP, which is 883 or just over 13 percent more than March.

With deliveries underway for a few weeks now, 2024 Ford Ranger pickups are beginning to populate dealer lots, though for now at least, that only includes models equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost, as variants packing the twin-turbo 2.7L V6 EcoBoost won’t arrive until Job 2 production begins, as Ford Authority exclusively reported last week.

The 2024 Ford Ranger features a number of other notable changes – including perhaps the biggest in the debut of the high-performance Ranger Raptor powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, which is being sold in the U.S. for the very first time. In addition to new styling inside and out, coupled with a handful of other major changes, the 2024 Ford Ranger nearly matches the EPA fuel economy ratings of its predecessor, as Ford Authority recently reported. However, all of these updates come at a cost, as the new Ranger is more expensive across the board – though in some cases, that increase can be attributed to the presence of more standard equipment.

  1. If production has increased for the 2024 For Ranger why havent I recieved delivery of my order placed on June 1st 2023? Order status has been stuck on in production since January 31st 2024! Having to wait over 12 months plus to get a new vehicle is unacceptable…..

  2. I am seriously considering saying the heck with Ford and going to Chevy or Toyota for a truck. I placed my order June 6 2023. And since April 17th my truck still says in production. But on my dealers website it shows a picture of it sitting by Ford rail cars . This is crazy. And talking to ford or my dealer does no good.

    1. I have and they say oh they are having trouble shipping the rangers. I could understand the shipping part. But what about the build? All mine says is in production. And talking to Ford the people I have talked to say that’s the only info they have. So before you call BS maybe you can explain why it takes almost a month to build a truck???

  4. Your dealership is still your best source, as they have the best contact capability with Ford itself. Otherwise, it’s really a first world problem to have.

  5. Ordered 2024 Ranger July 2023. After numerous delays production on my Ranger started May 2 2024. Shipped May 10 2024. Arrived railroad yard 30 May 2024. It is now 29 June…No one, not Dealership, Ford District Manager could find Ranger for 24 days..Finally they THINK that it might have been damaged (something I suggested a week after it arrived) although no one from Ford has physically seen it. They now have no idea where it is being repaired at nor how long it will take. I have asked them several times where and are the people making repairs using OEM Ford parts….Have asked local TV station to look into this Mickey Mouse operation and am awaiting word from them to see if they will look into it…Will keep you informed.

  6. well its been about 3 weeks since last post…still no word on where, when, if I will find out about Truck. Dealership has no idea where truck is. It would very well have been sent back to factory for repair..in which case would it be considered a USED 2024, NO MILAGE truck or what.
