Now in its fourth model year, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has received a few small changes ahead of what’s expected to be a more comprehensive mid-cycle refresh in 2025. The rugged crossover is cheaper than before, though some of its color options are now an extra cost. Regardless, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has enjoyed some success in the salesroom, most recently climbing six percent in Q1 2024 versus the same time period last year, clearly resonating with consumers in the small crossover space. However, a high school senior recently scored a brand new 2024 Ford Bronco Sport for free, according to KELO News.
The student – Tate Bathke, who attends O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota – won a free two-year lease for the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport in a drawing among students with perfect attendance, proving that simply showing up to class can truly pay off. As one might imagine, Bathke didn’t expect to be the lucky winner, but now, he’s got a brand new ride to drive to college when he transitions there this fall.
“No not all, but it’s pretty cool,” Bathke said when asked if he thought he had a chance at winning the crossover. “I mean I get a free car, almost, now I don’t have to worry about driving my car up there I can just leave it here and stuff so it’s frickin awesome.” The idea for this contest stemmed from research that shows missing class has serious negative consequences for students in terms of their long-term success, prompting the school to take action and team up with a local Ford dealer for this particular contest.
“Well we’ve been long-time supporters of O’Gorman and my kids go here and last year we got an email saying attendance was an issue and we kind of came up with the idea between my wife and myself and decided to support the school with a car giveaway, I heard from other car dealers nationwide that they were doing it and I thought it was a pretty cool idea,” said Ed Bloom of Sioux Falls Ford.
