Lincoln Corsair Sales Jump 56 Percent During Q1 2024

Lincoln Corsair sales increased in the United States and Mexico but decreased in Canada during the first quarter of 2024.

In the United States, Lincoln Corsair deliveries totaled 6,286 units in Q1 2024, an increase of about 56 percent compared to 4,023 units sold in Q1 2023.

In Mexico, Lincoln Corsair deliveries totaled 156 units in Q1 2024, an increase of about 152 percent compared to 62 units sold in Q1 2023.

Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)

Lincoln Corsair sales jumped 56 percent for 6,286 deliveries during Q1 2024 when ranked by sales volume, keeping sixth place from the previous quarter among 14 entries in its competitive segment.

The Lexus NX maintained its command of this space, with sales up 10 percent to 17,119 units, while the Buick Envision (see running Buick Envision sales) moved up a spot with a six percent slip to 13,203 units, still down nearly 4,000 deliveries from first. The Acura RDX traded places to take third with a 49 percent bump to 10,117 units. The rest of the field had less than 7,000 deliveries each, with the Audi Q3 posting an 80 percent swell in sales to 6,926 units to place fourth, followed by the Volvo XC40 with a 14 percent uptick moving 6,914 units in fifth, and the Corsair(see running Lincoln Corsair sales) placing sixth. The Cadillac XT4 (see running Cadillac XT4 sales), GM’s second entry, took ninth with a 28 percent sales drop for 4,879 deliveries.

In terms of segment share, the Corsair earned an eight percent share, up two percentage points year-over-year. The NX led with a 21 percent segment share, down one percentage point, while the Envision posted a 16 percent share, down four percentage points, and the RDX held a 12 percent, up two percentage points. The Q3 and XC40 both earned a nine percent share, with the Q3 up four percentage points while the XC40 maintained its share. Meanwhile, the XT4 earned a six percent share, down three percentage points.

GM’s two models here, the Buick Envision and Cadillac XT4, together accounted for 18,082 deliveries and a combined 22 percent segment share, putting FoMoCo’s crosstown rival at the top, ahead of Lexus.

The BMW X1 and X2 combined for 6,572 sales for a cumulative eight percent segment share. Sales for the X2 continue to slowly rebound from a generational changeover with the upcoming all-new 2024 BMW X2 to rival the Corsair. The next-gen 2023 BMW X1 arrived on scene the year before to compete as well.

The Mercedes-Benz entries, both the GLA-Class and GLB-Class, together moved 7,813 units for a combined 10 percent segment share.

Luxury C-segment crossovers grew 13 percent to 81,196 units in Q1 2024, meaning Lincoln Corsair sales significantly outperformed the segment average.

The Ford Authority Take

While Lincoln Corsair sales maintained their sixth place showing from the previous quarter and outperformed the segment average by a healthy margin to start out the year, cumulative sales from other automakers actually pushed the Corsair down the list, with it falling behind most of the field. Lincoln’s smallest crossover was outpaced by crosstown rival GM, Lexus, Acura, Audi, Volvo, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.

The refreshed 2023 Lincoln Corsair features a number of substantial changes, including revised exterior styling, a redesigned interior, standard Sync 4 infotainment, and the addition of the luxury brand’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving feature, which now offers lane-changing and more as part of the 1.2 update.

The 2024 Lincoln Corsair is unchanged from the updated model.
