The 2024 All-Star Race will once again light up historic North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday, May 19th. The annual exhibition race, which doesn’t pay any points toward the Cup Series championship, entices drivers to perform to the best of their abilities with a $1 million prize for the winner. It’s invite-only, meaning that only a select group of racers will compete in the main event, including one racer who will earn a spot on the grid based on a fan vote, and several NASCAR Ford drivers are up for the honor.
Fans have the opportunity to vote in drivers like Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 2 Ford Mustang Dark Horse and 2022 Daytona 500 champion. Rookie Josh Berry, who has performed well so far in the No. 4 Mustang, is also on the ballot, as is Noah Gragson, who took control of the No. 10 Mustang at the beginning of the 2024 season. Chase Briscoe, driver of the No. 14 Mustang, and Ryan Preece, driver of the No. 41 Mustang, could also end up in the All-Star Race with a little help from fans.
Fans who want to see the iconic No. 21 NASCAR Ford in the main event can cast a vote for Harrison Burton. Meanwhile, the No. 38 Mustang of Todd Gilliland could make the field on a vote, as could Justin Haley, driver of the No. 51 Mustang, or his teammate Kaz Grala, who drives the No. 15 Mustang.
All aforementioned NASCAR Ford drivers will have the chance to race their way into the All-Star Race as 20 drivers vie for two transfer spots awarded in the 100-lap All-Star Open race, which will take place before the main event on Sunday. After that, the fan vote winner will be announced. The Pit Crew Challenge, which will take place on Friday night, will set the starting lineup for both the All-Star and Open races. Seventeen drivers who won a point-paying race during the 2023 or 2024 seasons are already locked into the All-Star Race and will be joined by the two Open transfer winners and the fan vote winner.
Fans can vote for their driver on NASCAR’s website.
