2004 Ford E-350 Owned By Jimmy Buffett Up For Auction

Sometimes, a Ford E-Series Sportsmobile van will cross the digital auction block, which is good news for overland camping enthusiasts. A heavily modified 2004 Ford E-350 recently popped up for sale online, and this one has an interesting history – it was part of Jimmy Buffett’s personal fleet for much of its life.

Currently listed on Bring a Trailer, this 2004 Ford E-350 was converted to four-wheel-drive and outfitted as a camper by Sportsmobile West. It’s finished in white and is kitted out with an extended-height roof, along with a Fiamma awning, hood louvres, Aluminess bumpers, Yakima roof bars, a rear shower, and AMP Research retractable running boards.

Inside, the interior is finished in gray vinyl and features air conditioning, an Alpine touchscreen head unit, trailer brake controller, and CB radio. It’s fitted with overhead storage compartments, a power-operated ceiling vent, residential-style electrical outlets, a fold-down entertainment screen, and sleeping surfaces for long camping journeys. Its kitchenette features a sink, microwave, a butane stove, and a Norcold fridge.

Under the hood, this 2004 Ford E-350 is powered by the turbodiesel 6.0L Power Stroke, which was treated to a new short block in October 2021. It’s also fitted with a Wicked Wheel turbo impeller and a revised camshaft, and recent work includes a replacement powertrain control module (PCM) and oil change performed in December 2023.

The seller purchased this neat van from Jimmy Buffett in 2020 and its sale includes a variety of personal belongings that are said to have been left by Buffett. This includes a belt, several hats, DVDs, and a hand blender. Current mileage clocks in at 69,000 miles, 22,000 of which were put on by the current owner. History in California, Arizona, and Colorado is reported, and as of this writing, the high bid is $40,000. Bidding will close on June 10^th, 2024.

Another one of Buffett’s personal vehicles was recently sold off: a 1963 Ford Falcon went up for sale at GAA Classic Cars. In fact, Buffett owned this vehicle at the time of his death in September last year.
