The Ford F-150 Lightning was once the proud post child for the Blue Oval’s major push toward electrification. However, with demand for fully electric vehicles not aligning with Ford’s predictions, the electric pickup’s star has faded somewhat, nearly two years after its debut. That said, for buyers interested in the truck, the latest incentives sweeten the deal even more, at least for those in the market for a certain configuration.
CarsDirect, which has extensively covered all of the hidden deals available to 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning buyers, recently discovered another discount for shoppers interested in the extended range Lightning. There’s a new $2,500 incentive for shoppers interested in an XLT or Lariat with the bigger battery. Intriguingly, the new cash incentive is compatible with the preexisting $7,000 Red Carpet Lease Customer Cash on XLT and its Lariat equivalent, which is good for $9,750 off. The new and old discounts are also available nationwide.
It’s been a banner year for 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning discounts. As Ford Authority previously reported, the Lightning is now cheaper to lease than the gasoline lineup. Ford also rolled out a discount specifically aimed at Tesla owners in April. That said, the entire 2023 Ford F-150 lineup has been discounted this year, with dealers getting stair-step incentives for the pickups. 2024 Ford F-150 pickups are also steadily replacing their older counterparts as production of all variants has ramped up.
In addition to the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, another EV in the lineup has similarly received substantial discounts. The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is heavily discounted as the automaker aims to eliminate dealer stock. For both EVs, the tactic seems to be resonating with buyers, as EV sales were up 65 percent in May 2024. Ford CEO Jim Farley also outright stated that recent price cuts have helped spur sales.

I just have to laugh, as the idiots who bought these things from Bring a trailer and Cars & Bids auction sites at over MSRP are now licking their wounds. I call these people the “gotta haves”, and i guess if they have the money to piss away. good for them.
I had to have it.. but not that bad. I placed my reservation for a Lightning PRO in Oct 2021, when it was supposed to be $39k. Ford spent nearly 2 years not building my PRO and trying to talk me into a Lariat. I was finally allowed to convert the reservation to an order in June 2023. By Dec, it still wasn’t built and the discounts started rolling in. I got a fully loaded Lariat ER for not much more than Ford wanted for the PRO I ordered. It’s a great truck, but it’s not worth the $100k+ I’ve seen other ppl pay for lesser trim levels, in the early days
Just wait for it, when it comes the dealer will tell you what they told me sorry Ford doesn’t honor reservation prices for 2024, so that make me walk away with out the Maverick.
Good luck!!!
