2025 Ford Maverick XLT With Black Appearance Package Spotted

A massive hit since it launched for the 2022 model year, the Ford Maverick remains in short supply and high demand to this day. Regardless, few vehicles soldier on for more than a few years without receiving some sort of updates, and that is set to be the case with the 2025 Ford Maverick, which is primed to receive a mid-cycle refresh. To date, Ford Authority has spotted a host of 2025 Ford Maverick prototypes out testing, and now, we’ve come across another one with a notable feature.

That feature is what appears to be the Black Appearance Package, which was originally added to the Maverick lineup for the 2023 model year. Currently, the optional package is available on XLT and Lariat trimmed Ford Maverick models, and includes 18-inch unique machined-face Ebony aluminum wheels as well as a black front grille, mirrors, and Ford logos at the front and rear, tinted headlamps and taillamps, as well as black seats and other interior accents.

As we can see in these photos, many of those same darkened elements are present on this 2025 Ford Maverick prototype, including the updated Ford Blue Oval logo in the front grille. Interestingly, it also has a black-painted roof, which could wind up being added to the Black Appearance Package as part of the refresh, too.

Otherwise, this prototype shows off a handful of exterior styling updates heading for the 2025 Ford Maverick, including its revised front bumper and headlight design, with a portion of the former now cutting up into the latter. Thus far, we’ve seen this same headlight design with and without LED signatures, with a recently-spotted XL model finished in Eruption Green lacking that particular feature.

In addition to these exterior styling updates, Ford Authority also spotted a 2025 Ford Maverick prototype with both AWD and hybrid badging recently, signaling that FoMoCo may offer that particular combination on the compact pickup for the first time.

The 2025 Ford Maverick is potentially set to gain some sort of sporty variant or optional package as well, which has been previewed by both camouflaged and completely uncovered prototypes over the past couple of months. Additionally, back in March, Ford Authority spotted a 2025 Maverick prototype interior with its touchscreen uncovered for the first time, revealing what looks to be a unit that’s far larger than the one currently present in the same model – and quite possibly the same 13.2-inch touchscreen that’s found in some other Blue Oval models currently.

Has the Maverick always had a moonroof option or is that new? Interesting that the Maverick gets a moonroof but the Ranger does not…

This front end redux is not an improvement…looks like an ill-fitting jigsaw puzzle.
