The all-new Ford Transit Custom debuted in Europe just last October, but has quickly picked up where its predecessor left off in terms of routinely ranking as one of the best-selling vans – and vehicles, overall – in that region. The new Ford Transit Custom is offered in a wide variety of configurations, trims, and with all sorts of powertrains – including the all-electric E-Transit – and now, the brand new van is heading to yet another market as well.
That market is Mexico, Ford has announced, a country where 13 percent of the adult population opened their own business in 2023 – making now a great time to offer a versatile van there. In Mexico, the Ford Transit Custom will be sold in both cargo van and bus variants, with seating for either three or eight passengers in addition to the driver.
Either way, the Mexican Transit Custom is powered by the new 2.0L Panther E engine that generates 134 horsepower and 265 pound-foot of torque, which drives the front wheels in this case. This is notable because in other parts of the world, customers can choose from everything from diesel engines to a PHEV and the all-electric E-Transit. Regardless, both models come with a 13-inch center infotainment screen running SYNC 4, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, to boot. The 2024 Ford Transit Custom is available to purchase now in Mexico with a starting price tag of $850,000 MXN ($46,054 USD).
The new Ford Transit Custom is just the latest fresh Blue Oval product to join the lineup in that particular country, however. Over the past few months, we’ve seen a host of additional vehicles added to the Ford Mexico docket, including the Ford Expedition Stealth Performance, as well as the Ford Bronco Sport Black Appearance Package.
We’ll have more on the Ford Transit Custom soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

This cargo van really needs to be brought to the usa. Have a full size transit and it doesn’t fit in parking garages. Connect was too small to hold equipment. Use a Metris now (discontinued), would so buy the Transit Custom.
