Ford Escape Production Increased In May 2024

As is the case with most vehicles these days, Ford Escape production at the Louisville Assembly plant has experienced its fair share of ups and downs over the past few years, and especially in the months leading up to the launch of the refreshed model in 2023. Ford Escape production ramped up on a monthly basis for some time thereafter, at least, until April, when it declined for the first time since last November. That downward trend didn’t last long, however.

According to FoMoCo’s May sales report, Ford Escape production at the Louisville plant grew to 19,784 units, which is 3,996 more than April, or around 25 percent. This is a big shift from the month prior, when Ford Escape production declined by 2,580 units or right at 14 percent to 15,788 units versus March’s total of 18,368.

For the current model year, the Escape was only treated to a few minor updates following its 2023 refresh, as is typically the case, and we can likely expect the same for 2025. In the meantime, the Base trim has become a fleet-only offering, leaving the new Active model as the entry-level offering in the lineup. Additionally, the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad has been dropped from the lineup (but is still available as a dealer-installed option), and the factory navigation option has been reduced from three years to one.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Ford Escape gained just one new exterior paint color for the new model year, Race Red, which is exclusively available on the new Active and fleet-only Base trim. However, this new color comes at the cost of two other color options that have been deleted from the lineup as part of the model year changeover – Cinnabar Red Metallic and Atlas Blue Metallic.
