Production of the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 got off to a bit of a rocky start early on due to a supplier parts issue, as well as the typical quality checks The Blue Oval performs as part of its effort to improve initial quality. However, once all of those things were sorted, Ford F-150 production ramped up in March before deliveries began the following month. That wasn’t the case a month later, as Ford F-150 production actually decreased in April, though it bounced right back in May.
In April, Ford F-150 production at the Dearborn Truck plant totaled 24,065 units, which was 3,470 units or nearly 13 percent fewer than February. At the Kansas City Assembly plant, production increased by 1,786 units or around seven percent to 27,524. This means that total Ford F-150 production in April came out to 51,589 units, which represented a month-over-month increase of 1,684 units or just over three percent.
Ford F-150 production came roaring back for the most part in May, however. The popular pickup saw a big jump at the Dearborn plant, which cranked out 28,534 units last month – an increase of 4,469 units, or 18.5 percent more than April. In Kansas City, F-150 production finished the month at 25,575 units, which was actually 1,949 units or seven percent lower than April. Regardless, total F-150 production closed out the month at 54,109 units, which is still 2,520 units or just under five percent more than the month prior.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 has gained a number of updates for the new year, aside from the typical front and rear styling revisions. Those include a revamped trim level lineup with the addition of the new Platinum Plus model, the newly available Pro Access Tailgate, a standard 12-inch infotainment screen, and the turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost has become the new standard powerplant, to boot.
