Ford Fireworks Show Will Light Up Detroit For The 66th Year

The Ford Fireworks show in Detroit has a rich history – much like the automaker and the city itself – entertaining thousands of residents annually for decades to this point. Now, as we get closer to Independence Day, the Ford Fireworks show is once again slated to do precisely that, this time, for the 66th year. As has historically been the case, the annual extravaganza also offers attendees a number of ways to view the show, too.

For 2024, the Ford Fireworks show takes place on June 24th, at 10pm which is also when it will feature “The Rooftop Party,” which is presented by the automaker itself. That fundraiser takes place on the roof of the Center Garage along the Detroit River, and will feature food, complimentary beer and wine, giveaways, and live broadcasts by local radio stations and TV news channels. Tickets for that special event cost $350.

However, those that simply wish to see the fireworks in person can do so for free, with special viewing areas set up at Hart Plaza, Belle Isle Park, and Spirit Plaza, though no one is allowed to set up or gather before 2pm. Free parking will be available as well, as street parking meters won’t be enforced after 5pm, or visitors can park in the Ford Underground Garage or Eastern Market Garage. Parking at Belle Isle is also available, but at a cost of $13.

“The Ford Fireworks inspires awe and excitement for families in Detroit with spectacular fireworks display lighting up a truly iconic American skyline,” president and CEO of The Parade Co., Tony Michaels, said in a statement. “We are honored and privileged to work with the amazing team at Ford Motor Company to bring our community this incredible event for the 66th year.”
