In 2023, Ford took the crown as the most recalled automotive manufacturer in the business, which isn’t exactly the type of “award” that most companies would want to bring home. Since then, The Blue Oval has been working to improve its initial quality by implementing a variety of new methods, with things already beginning to look up. Regardless, based on historical data, a new study from iSeeCars found that the Ford Maverick is projected to be among the most recalled vehicles in the coming years.
In that study, the Ford Maverick is projected to have the 11th most recalls over its lifespan of any vehicle – 20.7 in total, which is 6.4 times greater than the median average of 3.2. That ranks it behind only the Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model 3, Porsche Panamera, Lucid Air, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, its Blue Oval stablemate, the Lincoln Aviator, the Genesis GV70, and the Kia Telluride.
iSeeCars came up with this list after analyzing the latest recall data for the 2015-2024 model years from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It identified the 25 models with the most projected lifetime recalls and determined that this data is much higher than a typical vehicle, and that those models also have quite a lot more lifetime recalls than the industry average – not to mention substantially more than the 25 least recalled cars, which are projected to have less than one recall over the course of a 30-year lifespan.
Of course, this is based on projected data, and things could change a lot in the coming years, so it’s certainly no guarantee that the Ford Maverick will actually reach this elevated number of recalls. In fact, the compact pickup recently ranked third in its class in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), and landed on Consumer Reports‘ list of the most reliable new vehicles priced under $30k, signaling that it may very well fare better than expected.

Your article about “Ford Maverick Among Cars Expected To Have Most Recalls” I find to be one of the dumbest and pointless articles I have ever read. Come on you can do better than that.
