Though it isn’t quite affordable as it once was – nor is it the standard powertrain choice anymore – the Ford Maverick Hybrid continues to earn accolades, many of them pertaining to the supreme value it offers. This is true not only for retail customers, but also, those that operate commercial fleets, as the extremely fuel-efficient and affordable Ford Maverick Hybrid has won its fair share of awards in both segments. Now, that list has grown yet again.
This time around, Vincentric has named the Ford Maverick Hybrid as the top compact/mid-size pickup in its 2024 Best Value in Canada Awards, which is based on the results of its cost of ownership analysis. The Ford Maverick Hybrid managed to beat out seven other competitors to take top honors in this segment by presenting owners with the lowest insurance, operating, and total ownership costs, the latter of which were 15.3 percent below expected levels.
To determine its Best Value in Canada Award winners, Vincentric measured cost of ownership using eight different factors – depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. It then used a statistical model to determine which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. This year, Vincentric evaluated around 2,000 vehicle configurations in all ten Canadian provinces plus the Northwest Territories.
As for the Ford Maverick Hybrid and its traditional gas-powered counterpart, both are no strangers to Vincentric awards, either. In fact, the Maverick XL topped its segment in the 2024 Best Fleet Value in America Awards, while the Maverick Hybrid won out in the 2024 2024 Best CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Value in America Awards, too.
