The Ford Puma has been a regular frontrunner on the list of best-selling vehicles in Europe since it was introduced a few years back. The small but mighty crossover has maintained this status through the first months of 2024, named one of the best-sellers in April 2024, and unsurprisingly, that trend continued during May 2024.
According to the latest data from JATO Dynamics, the Ford Puma was the 14th most popular vehicle in Europe last month with 13,084 units, although that represents a 10 percent decrease in sales from May 2023. The Ford Puma was outperformed by the Volkswagen T-Roc, Volkswagen Golf, Dacia Sandero, Renault Clio, Skoda Octavia, Puegeot 2008, Puegeot 208, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, Citroen C3, Toyota Yaris Cross, Kia Sportage, Toyota Yaris, and Dacia Duster; it ranked higher than the Volkswagen Tiguan, Renault Captur, Hyundai Tucson, Tesla Model Y, and more.
This continues a months-long hot streak for the Ford Puma, which ranked as the 12th best-selling new vehicle in Europe with 13,375 units sold in January, dipping to 18th place with 11,745 sales in February, catapulting to ninth after 19,077 sales in March, and ninth again in April with 14,868 sales. As a whole, the European new vehicle market saw a slight downturn last month, with registrations decreasing by 2.5 percent to 1.09 million units year-over-year.
As for the Ford Puma, the refreshed 2024 model year broke cover in February, ushering in a few updates for the popular crossover to keep it competitive among its rivals. This includes modest styling updates, such as new headlights, but the bigger news pertains to the crossover’s cockpit.
The refreshed Puma sports a larger 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch infotainment screen running SYNC 4 software. In terms of powertrains, the 2024 Ford Puma features the 1.0L I3 EcoBoost gas engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system capable of 125 PS (153 horsepower) or 155 (153 horsepower) PS, or 170 PS (168 horsepower), depending on trim level.
