What Packages Are Available On The 2024 Ford Explorer?

Previously, Ford Authority detailed all available packages for the forthcoming 2025 Ford Explorer. Today, we’re taking a look at the packages offered for the current 2024 Ford Explorer, breaking them all down by content, pricing, and availability.

Package offerings depend on 2024 Ford Explorer trim level, which includes XLT, ST-Line, Timberline, Limited, ST, King Ranch, and Platinum. With that in mind, let’s delve into the packages offered for the crossover.

XLT Technology Package

The 2024 Ford Explorer XLT can be fitted with the XLT Technology Package (option code 68D), which costs $2,845. Note that this package cannot be added in conjunction with the XLT Sport Appearance Package.

The XLT Technology Package bundles the following features for the crossover:

  • 360-Degree Camera (with Split View)
  • Audio:
    • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, 12 Speakers including Subwoofer
  • Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror (Interior)
  • Class IV Trailer Tow Package
  • Front Parking Sensors
  • Grille – Black-Painted Mesh Insert with Chrome Bars
  • Mirrors, Sideview – Power-Folding with Autofold, Power and Heated Glass, LED Turn Signal Indicators, Security Approach Lamps, Driver/Passenger Side Gloss Black Caps
  • Universal Garage Door Opener (UGDO)
  • Wireless Charging Pad

XLT Sport Appearance Package

The XLT Sport Appearance Package (option code 68M) bundles a handful of exterior accents for the 2024 Ford Explorer for $1,995, and includes the following:

  • 20-inch Carbonized Gray-Painted 10-Spoke Wheels
  • P255/55R20 All-Season (A/S) BSW Tires
  • Carbonized Gray-Painted:
    • Grille Bars and Mesh Insert
    • Liftgate Appliqué
    • Lower Bodyside Cladding Insert
    • Skid Plate Elements
  • Exhaust Tips, Dual – Chrome
  • “EXPLORER” Badge on Hood, Carbonized Gray
  • Instrument Panel Appliqués – Stretch Diamond
  • Mirror, Sideview – Gloss Black Caps
  • Seats:
    • Ebony/Light Slate with Medium Slate Contrast Stitching – All Rows
  • Unique Light Slate Door-Trim Panel Insert with Contrast Stitching

Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+

The Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+ package (option code 65S) is offered on the 2024 Ford Explorer XLT and ST trims for $995. Note that this package requires a long-term subscription beyond the five-year trial period. The trial period is not available in Alaska or Hawaii. This package includes the following:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with:
    • Stop-and-Go
    • Lane Centering
  • Evasive Steering Assist
  • Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System with Pinch-to-Zoom Capability, SiriusXM Traffic, and Travel Link

Class IV Trailer Tow Package

For $545, Class IV Trailer Tow Package (option code 52T) is offered on the Explorer XLT, ST-Line, Limited, and Platinum as a standalone option. This package features a handful of towing accessories for the crossover, and is included as part of several other packages.

Cargo Area Management System

The Cargo Area Management System (option code 21F) is available on all 2024 Ford Explorer trims as a $165 option, and includes the following:

  • Cargo Net
  • Cargo Well Rubber Mat

Timberline Technology Package

Available exclusively for the Explorer Timberline – as the name suggests – the Timberline Technology Package (option code 68U) bundles handy features for the off-road-oriented trim level. Content is as follows:

  • 110V/150W AC Power Outlet (replaces the Powerpoint Port on the rear side of the Center Floor Console)
  • Audio:
    • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen
      • 12 Speakers including Subwoofer
  • Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror (Interior)
  • Mirrors, Sideview – Power-Folding with Autofold, Power and Heated Glass, Security Approach Lamps and Gloss Black Caps
  • Seats – Third Row PowerFold (folds flat)
  • Universal Garage Door Opener (UGDO)
  • Wireless Charging Pad

Limited Technology Package

The 2024 Ford Explorer Limited gets its own version of the Technology Package for $1,695 aptly called the Limited Technology Package (option code 65T). Content is as follows:

  • 10.1-inch LCD Capacitive Portrait Touchscreen in Center Stack with Swipe and Pinch-to-Zoom Capability
  • Audio:
    • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, 980 Watt
      • 14 Speakers including Subwoofer

ST Equipment Groups

The 2024 Ford Explorer ST offers two equipment groups. Known as the ST High Package and Enthusiast Package, these bundles are optional, extra-cost upgrades for the ST trim. Opting for these equipment groups upgrades the Explorer ST with a host of standard tech and features that the crossover would not otherwise feature, such as all features included in the Technology Package, an upgraded sound system, rain-sensing wipers, heated/ventilated front seats, and more.

Premium Technology Package

The Premium Technology Package (option code 65P) is offered for $1,295 on the Explorer ST, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, and outfits the crossover with quite a few handy tech features, including:

  • Multicontour Seats with Active Motion
  • 10.1-inch LCD Capacitive Portrait Touchscreen in Center Stack with Swipe and Pinch-to-Zoom Capability
  • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, 980 Watt
    • 14 Speakers including Subwoofer

Technology Package

The Technology Package (option code 65K) is an optional extra for the Explorer ST, King Ranch, and Platinum trims, where it costs $1,295. It cannot be added in conjunction with the Premium Technology Package, and includes the following:

  • 10.1-inch LCD Capacitive Portrait Touchscreen in Center Stack with Swipe and Pinch-to-Zoom Capability
  • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, 980 Watt
    • 14 Speakers including Subwoofer

ST Appearance Package

The ST Appearance Package (option code 67F) outfits the Ford Explorer ST with unique ST-themed accents both inside and out for an additional $595. Note that it is not available in conjunction with second Row 35/30/35 bench seats with E-Z Entry and armrests. This package includes the following:

  • Seats:
    • Front and Second Row Leather Seating Surfaces with Miko Micro-Perforated Inserts, Race Red and Raptor Blue Accent Stitching and ST Logo
  • Center Console, Door Trim Panels and Steering Wheel with Race Red and Raptor Blue Accent Double Stitching
  • Floor Mats:
    • Carpet, Front and Rear

ST Street Pack

The ST Street Pack (option code 68S) grants a handful of sporty accessories for the crossover for $995. It cannot be combined with the ST High-Performance Pack, and selecting this package will replace the ST Street Pack on the crossover at an incremental cross.

The ST Street Pack includes the following:

  • 21-inch Aluminum Wheels
  • Performance Brakes
  • Red Painted Performance Front and Rear Brake Calipers

ST High-Performance Pack

Speaking of the ST High-Performance Pack (option code 68T) is similar to the ST Street Pack, and is exclusively offered on the Explorer ST. Costing $1,595, content of this package as follows:

  • 21-inch Aluminum Wheels
  • High-Performance Brakes
  • Red Painted Performance Front and Rear Brake Calipers

Production of the 2024 Ford Escape recently concluded at the Chicago Assembly plant as the facility welcomed the refreshed 2025 Escape. In fact, production of the crossover decreased exponentially in April 2024 before tapering off completely.

Looking ahead, the refreshed 2025 Explorer features a revised interior and exterior, along with myriad new features. Pricing starts at $38,670 for the new base Active trim, and it’s worth noting that certain trims are actually more affordable than the outgoing 2024 model year.

  1. Will Ford ever get a repair for the screaming back up brakes on the Bronco Sport. I have a 2022 Outer Banks that can clear a parking lot of people it sounds so bad. They keep making repairs and nothing as of yet has helped.
