One of the most successful movies in modern history, Jurassic Park also famously starred the first-generation Ford Explorer, which was used to transport visitors to the park around on tours, where they could check out the dinosaurs up close and personal. Of course, the most memorable scene involving that unique Ford Explorer occurred when it had an unfortunate run in with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Since then, a number of fans have created tributes or replicas of the Jurassic Park Ford Explorer, such as this one.
This 1992 Ford Explorer is yet another Jurassic Park tribute to emerge for sale, this time, via Bring a Trailer. It was originally finished in Medium Mocha Metallic, but has since been treated to a red, green, and yellow Jurassic Park-style livery, yellow Plasti-Dip coated wheels and body side moldings, a front brush guard, a roof rack, taillight guards, and auxiliary lighting – making it look just like the famous movie star.
The interior is largely untouched, however, and features Light Sandalwood leather seats, coupled with amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, locks, and mirrors, and the original AM/FM/cassette stereo. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.0L V6, which in this guise sent 160 horsepower to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. However, it also comes with some cool stuff such as a Jurassic Park brochure, a LEGO model, walkie-talkies, and replica movie prop night-vision goggles.
Of course, we’ve seen a few other Ford Explorer Jurassic Park tributes surface for sale in recent years, including one that was auctioned off back in October 2020, which would up hammering for a whopping $18,500 before resurfacing for sale just a few months later.
We’ll have more cool vehicles for sale to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Explorer news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
