Following its debut for the 2022 model year, the Ford E-Transit was set to receive a few updates for 2024, as Ford Authority reported back in March. At that time, The Blue Oval noted that order banks for the 2024 Ford E-Transit were scheduled to open up in the spring, with deliveries expected to follow later in 2024. However, that hasn’t yet happened – though now, we have a better idea of when 2024 Ford E-Transit deliveries will actually begin.
According to sources familiar with the matter, deliveries of the 2024 Ford E-Transit are currently expected to take place in late Q3 of 2024. As of now, no 2024 model year E-Transit vans have been built or delivered, and all existing new inventory on dealer lots consists of 2023 models only.
Those awaiting the arrival of the 2024 Ford E-Transit will find a number of notable updates have taken place, however. Perhaps the biggest is the presence of a larger battery, which touts 89 kWh of usable capacity – compared to the outgoing unit at 68 kWh – improving estimated range from 126 miles up to 159 miles in top spec, which represents an increase of 26 percent for low-roof and 32 percent for high-roof models.
While output remains unchanged at 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, the 2024 Ford E-Transit does get faster charging speeds thanks to the presence of new, dual onboard chargers that provide peak speeds of up to 176 kW. That means that the 2024 E-Transit can add up to 67 miles of range in low-roof cargo van configuration in 15 minutes, which is 49 percent quicker than the outgoing model. Finally, the 2024 E-Transit can be paired with FoMoCo’s new North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, which enables the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) equipped EV van to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations.
We’ll have more on the E-Transit soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and continuous Ford news coverage.
