2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade Now Available In FordPass App

The debut of the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E was one that brought forth a host of changes for the EV crossover, albeit, nothing that constitutes a mid-cycle refresh. Rather, The Blue Oval shuffled some things around and added a few new features, but also made a very interesting choice to drop the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition from the lineup, which was previously the top-performing model of the bunch. However, the automaker did announce that it would be offering a Performance Upgrade instead, and now, that has officially arrived.

The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade – which is included as standard equipment on the Rally model – is now available via the FordPass app, though customers can also add it at the time of purchase as well. This upgrade adds a rather substantial 100 pound-feet of torque, which raises output up to 700 pound-feet and enables the Mach-E GT to do 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, while completing the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph. Additionally, the Mach-E GT also now comes with the MagneRide system as standard equipment, too.

Notably, those figures mean that the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, when equipped with the Performance Upgrade, is quicker than the Tesla Model Y Performance and Porsche Macan 4 Electric. It manages to accomplish this via thermal modeling and control algorithms, combined with a new e-motor, which was developed in-house by Ford engineers and is present in all trim levels.

The new eMotor weighs less than the outgoing unit and also helps deliver improved torque across the lineup. The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E extended range battery now charges around 20 percent faster than previous models when using DC fast chargers – going from 10-80 percent in 36.2 minutes, wile the  standard range battery can complete the same task in a quicker 32.3 minutes as well. In terms of range, the base Select model with the standard range battery and rear wheel drive gets a 20 mile boost up to 250 miles, the Premium extended range battery variant with rear-wheel drive nabs a 20 mile improvement to 320 miles, and the GT gets 10 additional miles of range, bringing it up to 280.
