After a rather long wait, deliveries of the all-new 2024 Ford Ranger began in the U.S. back in April, months after production of the redesigned model initially began. This delay was caused by a problem discovered during routine quality checks – a cosmetic issue on the hood of the truck that made it appear as though there was a dent. Once that was sorted, deliveries began, but those that wish to order a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, specifically, will need to do so soon.
That’s because – according to a dealer bulletin recently seen by CarsDirect – order banks for the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor are slated to close on July 31st, though that only applies to the Raptor – not other models in the 2024 Ranger lineup. “We are announcing the decision to turn off the ability to submit new retail orders for the 24MY Ranger Raptor,” FoMoCo wrote in its bulletin, adding that “the final day to submit new retail orders for the 24MY Ranger Raptor will be Wednesday, July 31st, 2024.”
The automaker also noted that “dealer allocation and commodity constraints play a significant role in the ability to schedule customer retail orders,” meaning that it can’t guarantee that dealers will receive a suitable number of 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor pickups. At least part of this decision stems from the automaker’s inability to secure enough parts for the high-performance off-road pickup, it seems, and at the moment, there are only around 500 units in dealer inventory across the U.S.
Those that do find a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor sitting on a dealer lot may wind up having to pay some sort of markup in order to bring it home, as Ford Authority previously reported. Regardless, the Ranger Raptor has received mostly glowing reviews since its launch, while the new Ranger lineup enjoyed a five percent sales boost in Q2 as well.
