2025 Ford Escape Also Ditches Active Park Assist 2.0

As Ford Authority reported back in early February, Ford somewhat implied that it may remove automated parallel parking from Ford Active Park Assist in an effort to save money and reduce complexity as few customers have actually been using it. Since then, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning and 2025 Ford Explorer have ditched Active Park Assist 2.0, along with a few others. Now, the 2025 Ford Escape has joined that list, too.

For the 2024 model year, Active Park Assist 2.0 was included in the Premium Technology Package, which was optional on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum trims, as well as the PHEV Premium Technology package. However, Active Park Assist 2.0 has now been deleted entirely from the 2025 Ford Escape lineup as the small crossover becomes the latest Blue Oval model to do so.

This isn’t the only notable deletion present in the 2025 Ford Escape either, as the premium wrapped steering wheel – previously standard on the Active trim for 2024 – has been replaced by a urethane steering wheel in the 2025 model. The 2025 Ford Escape Active has also lost its previously-standard eight-way power driver’s seat as well, replacing it with a six-way manual seat. The ST-Line is losing its aluminum foot pedals that were previously standard on all three ST-Line trims, while the ST-Line Elite and Platinum are ditching the previously-standard ambient lighting. For 2025, the ST-Line and ST-Line Select are losing their monochromatic painted bodyside cladding, rocker panels, and bumpers in favor of molded-in-color components.

The 2025 Ford Escape has also ditched its spare tire – at least in non-hybrid models – which no longer come with that part as standard equipment, and instead, The Blue Oval has gone back to equipping them with the Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit, though a spare is still available as an option for pure ICE models. Finally, rain-sensing wipers are no longer standard on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum trims, too. As far as exterior colors go, Space Silver Metallic has been added as a no-cost option for all trims, though Iconic Silver Metallic and Race Red have also been deleted.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. I’d love to know where all of this daily info is coming from. I have access to the Order Guides and don’t see one yet for the ’25 Escape. Some folks claim the Build&Price is up, but that doesn’t specify deletions, as far as I know. BOF claims that pricing is also out. $27995 to start, a drop from the ’24s.

  2. What’s next for this poor unloved vehicle. Just put it out of its misery, Ford, before I read that the steering wheel has been deleted.

    1. Just put Ford out of its misery at this point. They have squat left in its lineup that interests me in the least and the one that does, the Escape, is such a poor value that I wouldn’t go near it. One dealer about 200 miles from me is trying to peddle its leftover ’23 demos for only $5K under the original inflated sticker. That should tell you that Ford NEEDS high Escape prices to help pay for all those unwanted EVs.
