The 2024 Ford Mustang marked the dawn of an entirely new generation for the popular pony car, which is always a big deal in the automotive world. That redesign brought forth a lot of notable changes for the long-running model, as is typically the case, meaning that the 2025 Ford Mustang wasn’t likely to receive too many updates. Thus far, that has proven to be the case, but there is at least one notable deletion for the new model year.
That deletion is wireless charging, which was previously standard on the 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium, GT Premium, and Dark Horse. However, it has completely disappeared from the 2025 Ford Mustang lineup, which is notable given the fact that wireless charging is a popular feature these days that is at least available in many new vehicles.
In addition to this update, the 2025 Ford Mustang has also dropped the EcoBoost High Performance Package, which was available on the 2024 model. Previously known as the 2.3L High Performance Package (HPP), this package had originally debuted for the 2020 model year, giving EcoBoost owners an array of upgrades in one convenient package, but now, it’s no longer available.
There is one notable addition for the new model year, however – the 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package, which can be spec’d on GT Premium models in both coupe and convertible configurations, and with either the six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. From there, the package adds a host of unique touches that pay tribute to the original model, including badging that’s designed to present a modern take on the pieces present on the first-generation pony car, along with stripes, a unique grille, 20-inch Dark Gravity Gray wheels, and special touches inside the cabin as well.

Now they’re even decontenting the Mustang? Ford must be in bad shape.
Ford continues to decontent their vehicles little by little while competitors are frequently refreshing their vehicles adding more content.
Alan Mulally moved Ford up with his belief that you didn’t have to buy a Rolls Royce to get high-tech accessories. The 2013 Fusion was testimony to that. Now we have this Farley guy who thinks customers won’t notice that when they pay for a “Platinum” trim vehicle all they get is a stripper with fancy wheels. He apparently isn’t a real car guy, and Ford will eventually suffer because of these decisions. It’s almost like saying that if you aren’t part of the right “class” you can’t have the nice toys.
Offer the customer less for more money……the Ford way.
Rented a ‘24 Ecoboost Mustang Convertible in May. I thought the wireless charger was -perfect- with the Bluetooth Apple CarPlay. WTF Ford?
Have a ‘19 5.0 GT Premium Convertible and it definitely could use a Qi Charger instead of a USB cable…
Just install a Qi compatible charge pad in any vehicle. Even my 1995 Buick Regal had one for just $30.
Will Ford drop heaters next? but of course raise the price.
Wireless charging pads barely work anyways and make your phone hot. My vehicle has one and I don’t bother using it.
