Ford Bronco Sport production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico has experienced its fair share of ups and downs as of late, which is pretty typical of automotive production in general. Through the 2024 calendar year thus far, Ford Bronco Sport production has seen its share of highs and lows, which is also true of the Ford Maverick that it’s built alongside at Hermosillo. That uneven trend continued in June as well, it seems.
According to Ford’s June 2024 sales report, Ford Bronco Sport production declined slightly, from 16,999 to 16,523 units, versus May – a difference of 476 units, or nearly three percent. By comparison, Bronco Sport production grew by 1,427 units or around nine percent in May compared to April, when Hermosillo built 15,572 units of the rugged crossover. That increase came after Ford Bronco Sport production grew by 16.6 percent in January before declining by 12 percent in February and 20 percent in March, then increasing 37 percent in April.
In the midst of its fourth model year, the Ford Bronco Sport did receive a few notable updates for 2024. The Heritage Limited was dropped from the lineup, along with the entry-level Base trim, though Ford added two other interesting variants for the new model year – the Black Appearance Package and the retro-themed Free Wheeling model. Otherwise, the rugged crossover received the typical exterior color changes as well, but not much else.
However, bigger things are in store for the 2025 model year, as the Ford Bronco Sport is slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh. To date, Ford Authority has spotted a few prototypes of that model, revealing an exterior design that doesn’t deviate much from the current Bronco Sport. However, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is also expected to receive some more notable updates, such as a larger infotainment screen inside the cabin.
