Production of both the Ford Maverick and Ford Bronco Sport at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico have experienced their fair share of ups and downs throughout the 2024 calendar year, which is pretty typical for most automotive models. Bronco Sport production declined slightly in June following some pretty big swings throughout the preceding months, in fact, while Ford Maverick output has been on a mostly upward trajectory – at least, until recently.
According to Ford’s June sales report, Ford Maverick production at Hermosillo decreased month-over-month, from 17,468 units in May to 16,509 last month – a difference of 959 units, or around 5.5 percent. In January, Ford built 16,269 units of its popular compact pickup, which was 5,495 units or 51 percent more than December, and it also helped contribute to a robust 98.39 percent year-over-year sales increase in January to kick off the new year, too. Things took a turn for the worse in February, however, as Ford Maverick production tumbled to 14,316 units, a decrease of 1,953 units or 12 percent.
Somewhat surprisingly, that downward trend continued in March as well, as 13,156 Ford Maverick pickups rolled off the assembly line in Mexico that month, which was a month-over-month decrease of 1,160 units, or just over eight percent. However, The Blue Oval bounced right back in April, churning out 17,669 Ford Maverick pickups – an increase of 4,513 units or a whopping 34 percent.
Looking ahead, both the 2025 Ford Maverick and Bronco Sport are slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh ripe with updates for both. The Maverick, specifically, is getting a revamped front end design, along with a potential sporty model or optional package, the addition of new colors, the return of the Black Appearance Package, the possible addition of an all-wheel drive hybrid option, and a new, larger infotainment screen inside the cabin.
