Though it may not seem terribly old at this point, the redesigned Ford Ranger debuted in global markets like Thailand and Australia back in 2022 for the 2023 model year, followed by North America in 2023 for the 2024 model year. Thus, given the fact that The Blue Oval tends to refresh its pickups every three years or so, this means that we’re likely already looking ahead to a mid-cycle action for the current-generation Ford Ranger, and that’s precisely what a new report indicates is set to happen in the near future.
This news comes to us from Australia’s Drive, which reports that both the Ford Ranger and Everest are set to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2026 model year, launching in certain markets in late 2025. Perhaps more notably, this report also notes that the Ford Ranger and Everest could also be in line for another, more comprehensive redesign in 2029 or 2030 for Australia and 2031 for North America, meaning that the current model would only have a seven-year lifespan – a bit shorter than previously expected.
While a refresh would likely bring forth more minor changes such as styling tweaks and new tech, Drive reports that the Ranger and Everest’s next redesign could introduce some big updates for both. Both are rumored to be underpinned by a new global architecture that would be shared with the Ford F-150, in fact.
In the meantime, North American Ford Ranger customers are still awaiting the arrival of the twin-turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, which is slated to be added as part of Job 2 production. At the same time, the new Ranger Tremor just debuted for the Australian market – though it has no U.S.-based counterpart as of yet – and a plug-in hybrid variant is slated to join the lineup in select markets for the 2025 model year as well. Additionally, it’s likely that a regular hybrid powertrain will be added to the Ranger at some point, too.

Been holding out for cooled seats. Hopefully my wait will pay off
Can anyone educate me with a few details on a feature / benefit profile for next years Ranger Hybrid vs. PHEV option ? I do want to wait for a Hybrid version, just not sure which version makes to most sense.
There is no straight hybrid version. PHEV only.
All good news but cooled seats and HVAC controls in the rear seat area would be great for all models including the Ranger Raptor.
Refresh the 2024 Ranger looks like a refresh. Remember the SN95 Mustang and the New Edge Mustang well the 2024 Ranger should be called the New Edge Ranger.
Ford should offer the PHEV Ranger in the U.S. now. How is it that an American company won’t sell a vehicle in the U.S. that Americans want, but they do sell it outside the U.S. in select markets?
Because they really want you to buy an F-150.
It’s not on sale in international markets till early 25.
