Since launching its all-electric vehicle lineup, FoMoCo has also provided EV owners with a few enticing benefits – including complimentary charging for Ford F-150 Lightning and Ford Mustang Mach-E customers, as well as some at-home charging solutions. Now, one of Ford’s chief rivals – Stellantis – is preparing to launch its Free2move Charge website and Free2move Charge app, a move that corresponds with $600 in benefits available to the owners of that company’s EVs, too.
“As we introduce our all-electric vehicles this year in the U.S., we want to ensure that our customers easily understand the charging options available to them before or upon purchase,” said Mathilde Lheureux, head of energy and charge business unit at Stellantis. “Simply stated, included in the purchase of a Stellantis battery-electric vehicle is the ability choose a Free2move Level 2 charging unit or charging credits with a value of $600 to use at charging stations across the country, which are easily identifiable through the app.”
Those that purchase a new Stellantis EV will be able to get the Free2move Charge Home Package and its Level 2 charging unit for free, which is a $600 value, or they can choose to receive $600 in charging credits as an alternative, which can be used at public charging stations across the U.S. In either case, the Free2move Charge app informs owners of the best times to charge and avoid peak electricity rates, as well as guide them to chargers and show their remaining credits when on the go.
This complimentary credit will come in handy for future Stellantis EV owners, as the automaker is preparing to launch a bevy of new all-electric products over the coming months. That list includes the new Dodge Charger Daytona, the Ram 1500 REV, the Jeep Recon, and the Jeep Wagoneer S, to name just a few.
