Ford Tie Rod Assemblies Recalled Over Ball Stud Issue

The defect: in affected vehicles, certain tie rod assemblies – part numbers FC4Z-3280-FA and FC4Z-3280-HA – may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The hazards: tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this condition.

    1. Why doesn’t Ford and the other companies put the blame where it belongs. ALL the recall parts that my Ford vehicles (personal/farm) have been sourced to CHINESE manufacturers.
China had all the US companies blackmailed (including Boeing) by demanding that if companies want to sell their products in China, a certain percentage of the products (vehicles,) has to contain parts made in China..only country in the world getting away with this financial ransom. I had to order new brake drums for my truck. US Ford marked box but part forged china.
Two months later, brake drum cracked (1) and broke into three pieces (1) and while pulling trailer with horses.
