Over 1,000 Ford Transit Connect Vans Are Still Available

Back in March 2023, The Blue Oval announced that the Ford Transit Connect had been officially canceled for the North American market, noting that it would be removed from that lineup following the conclusion of the 2023 model year. That was indeed the case, as the automaker opted not to develop a next-generation version of the small van amid declining sales in the U.S., though the Transit Connect does live on in Europe following a total redesign. However, those in the U.S. that want to purchase a new Ford Transit Connect can still do so, at least, for the time being.

As Ford Authority previously reported, there were still around 2,700 Ford Transit Connect vans in dealer stock across the U.S. as of the end of April 2024, but that number has declined in the months since then. According to Ford’s June sales report, in fact, there were just around 1,400 Ford Transit Connect vans still in dealer inventory as of the conclusion of the second quarter of the year, meaning that customers interested in purchasing one new still have a chance to do so, though they also scooped up around 7,000 units over that same time period – boosting sales by 30 percent in Q1 alone.

Though it has since received a memorial of sorts after being discontinued in the U.S., the Ford Transit Connect lives on in Europe, though that model is little more than a rebadged Volkswagen Caddy, underpinned by that automaker’s MQB platform and utilizing the same drivetrain options and output, albeit renamed to fit within the Blue Oval family.

Production of the Ford Transit Connect at the Valencia Assembly plant in Spain ended in late December, though the all-new European model debuted for the 2022 model year and is available in a variety of configurations and with several powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid variant.

  1. I might be interested if I could find a passenger/window Transit Connect.

  2. I have a 2021 Transit Connect Titanium passenger van. It replaced a 2003 Grand Caravan. I will never part with my Transit Connect. It is a great van, the perfect size for my needs. I got all the options, including the panoramic roof, towing package, etc. No problems, so far, in the 3+ years that I’ve owned the vehicle.
There is NO way I would buy a VW….which is what the “new” Transit Connect is.
