Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for a Lincoln Star diecast model, Ford Authority has learned.
The patent was filed on April 8th, 2022, published on July 30th, 2024, and assigned serial number 1037073.
The Ford Authority Take
Back in April 2022 – the same time this patent was filed – The Blue Oval revealed the all-new Lincoln Star concept, an all-electric crossover sporting all-new styling that was intended to set the stage for the future of that luxury brand. At the time, Lincoln was planning to launch an all-electric variant of each one of its vehicles by no later than 2027, while also adding at least one new EV model to the lineup by that same date. Lincoln also planned to deliver three new all-electric vehicles by 2025, and a fourth by the end of 2026.
However, a lot has changed since then, as global demand for EVs has failed to keep up with its previous torrid pace. Lincoln has since largely given up on its all-electric ambitions, with president Dianne Craig noting that EVs are no longer a priority. Thus, it’s unclear if the Lincoln Star will ultimately come to fruition, though as Ford Authority reported in December 2022, FoMoCo had already begun testing a prototype at that time.
Additionally, Ford filed to trademark “Lincoln Star” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) a couple of years ago, signaling that this particular name seems destined to wind up on a vehicle of some sort. It’s unclear if the Lincoln Star concept will be that vehicle – or if it will be accompanied by this diecast model – but it’s certainly a possibility, if nothing else.

Cool concept but wasn’t very Lincoln in styling, in my opinion
The diecast company may be Greenlight. I bought from them a 1/64 scale model of my 2014 Fusion Hybrid in the exact factory color.
