The redesigned Ford Ranger has thus far proven to be a hit in every market it’s sold in, taking away the Australian sales crown from the Toyota Hilux and moving thousands of units in its very first week on sale in Brazil last summer, too. In the latter, South American country, the new Ford Ranger has since built upon that momentum rather than tapering off – as is oftentimes the case with brand new vehicles – and it continues to win over Brazilian buyers, too.
The Ford Ranger was setting new personal sales records last fall as well, and has proven to be a popular choice among customers of Ford Go – the company’s digital subscription car service – which takes place entirely online and allows customers to drive a new vehicle each year, for a fixed monthly cost that is all-inclusive and includes insurance, taxes, maintenance, and other ownership-related expenses. Now, with June in the rear-view, we’re learning that the Ford Ranger set another new sales record last month as well.
Ford sold a total of 3,026 Ranger pickups in Brazil last month, which is the most ever, and the mid-sizer also secured its largest market share in the last three years – 25.1 percent. Over the first half of 2024, the Ford Ranger has enjoyed a 53 percent sales increase in that part of the world, building upon its performance last year, when sales grew by 42.5 percent to over 20,000 units. In the first half of 2024, Ranger sales totaled 12,772 units, putting it on pace to best that mark, too.
“Ranger has brought a new standard to the medium pickup truck segment and this is being increasingly recognized by the market. So much so that 50 percent of its buyers are new customers to the brand,” said Antonio Baltar Junior, director of Sales, Marketing and Services at Ford. “With the greater availability of the product, we have now reached this historical volume.”
