S550 Ford Mustang GT Flies Off Road, Crashes Into House

At this point, we’ve seen so many crashes involving various Ford Mustang models that it simply doesn’t have the same sort of “impact” that it used to. While it’s normal for pretty much any V8-powered, rear-wheel drive vehicle to experience such things – most of the time, due to the person behind the wheel and their inherent lack of skill – the Ford Mustang has long been slapped with a reputation for being easy to crash – and this recent incident is yet another example of why.

This latest Ford Mustang crash involves an S550 GT model in Eagle, Idaho, where the 27-year-old driver of this particular pony car reportedly lost control while he was driving it down the road and proceeded to smash directly into a nearby house. Problem is, the Mustang didn’t just stop there – rather, it wound up going through the brick exterior wall of the house, coming to a rest only once the entire car was inside a room.

According to the Eagle Police Department, the man immediately fled the scene, leaving a teenage passenger and a firearm behind. Luckily, no one was inside of the home at the time this crash occurred, and the passenger only suffered minor injuries as a result. As for the house, well, it’s pretty clear from these photos provide by Eagle PD that it didn’t fare quite as well.

The driver wound up making it around a half-mile away from the scene before they were captured, transported to the hospital for minor injuries, and ultimately booked into the Ada County Jail for a bevy of charges including felony injury to child, misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident, and misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons under the influence of alcohol. In this case, it’s nice to see that no one was seriously injured, but then again, it’s also quite concerning to see yet another wild, preventable crash involving a Ford Mustang, too.
