In recent years, more and more people are gravitating to what many call “van life,” which involves converting those types of vehicles into mobile living spaces in various ways. This isn’t exactly a new concept, but it’s one that has exploded in popularity as of late, with many people opting to use vans not only to camp in, but also, to quite literally live in rather than a traditional house. Thus, a large number of companies have begun offering camper conversions for vans, with the latest being Van2B, which just debuted a series of Ford Transit Campervan conversion kits.
Van2B has launched a few different Ford Transit Campervan conversion kit options, which are designed to work with both 130- and 148-inch wheelbases, as well as low, middle, and high roof configurations. Customers have a variety of options to choose from, including what kind of bed system they wish to utilize. The multi-use bed system contains underneath cabinets and is available in a Murphy configuration or a sliding configuration, in fact.
The Murphy bed setup is a good option for those that want to be able to stash their bed out of the way and utilize that space for other activities when it’s not being used, while the sliding bed is a bit more permanent in that retracts when not in use, but takes up more space when it is. Van2B is also working on kitchen cabinets for the Ford Transit that house a small refrigerator, a stove, a sink, and provide storage for things like kitchen utensils and food, which are slated to launch later this year.
Though Ford sells the Transit Custom Nugget – a ready-to-roll camper conversion – in other parts of the world such as Europe, customers in the U.S. seeking something similar are forced to look to the aftermarket, at least for now. However, there is no lack of options in that regard, as along with Van2B, there are a plethora of companies out there offering countless upfitting options for a wide array of Blue Oval models, too.
We’ll haver more camper van conversions to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
