When the Lincoln Blackwood came along for the 2002 model year, it did so in a time when luxurious pickups simply weren’t a thing. That’s no longer the case, of course, as folks are more than happy to shell out big bucks for fancy trucks these days. Sadly, the Lincoln Blackwood was a bit too far ahead of its time, however, and sold in such tiny numbers that Ford promptly canceled it after just one model year. However, the Blackwood has quickly become a hot ticket item on the collector car auction circuit, at least.
That list has expanded yet again, this time, to include a very nice 17k-mile 2002 Lincoln Blackwood that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer. It’s one of around 3,300 produced in total, and has lived under three owners thus far – including the selling dealer, who just purchased it earlier this year. Amazingly, the auction listing doesn’t notate any flaws on the exterior, which isn’t terribly common.
That isn’t necessarily the case inside the cabin, however, where one will find the typical creases in its black leather upholstery, as well as a crack in the dash – something that we’ve seen on more than one of these pickups. Otherwise, it’s in nice condition, however, with loads of amenities including heated, cooled, and power-adjustable front bucket seats, automatic climate control, and power-adjustable pedals. As is the case with all Blackwoods, this one’s powered by the Ford 5.4L V8, which produced 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox.
This Lincoln Blackwood joins a couple of low-miles examples we’ve seen cross the auction block as of late, too. Back in February, we came across one with a mere 24k miles on the clock, and in April, another one surfaced for sale with 32k miles.
We’ll have more cool auction finds to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Lincoln news, Lincoln Blackwood news, and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Does anybody question where these vehicles 20 or more years old come from with such low mileage?
IIRC, these were marketed to a specific clientele that probably owned multiple vehicles and didn’t drive this particular one all that much.
My dad came home after a 20yr bid. We all jumped @ any opportunity to put a smile on his face. So when my sisters decided to buy him a new truck they delegated me with the job of finding the one… My Pops was convicted of being kingpin of a multi million $ drug op. so it had to be Boss.
After weeks of searching and shaking hands during covid (yeah it was that serious). So I made an appointment to go check out some potential picks @ a local dealer… He had some nice decent choices but nothing just got a nod out me until I seen the Blackwood game over lets make a deal… Our Dad was so proud and pleased I think we all cried but I not sure cuz I was to busy being in the video.
