2003 Mercury Sable GS Wagon With 41K Miles Up For Auction

Though both were discontinued years ago, we continue to see a growing, renewed interest in both the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable, with numerous well-kept, low-mile examples popping up at collector car auctions in recent months. The hammer prices of those vehicles are also on the rise, with some raising our eyebrows a bit as folks seem more and more willing to shell out big bucks for both. Now, we have another nice example that may test someone’s bank account – this very nice, low-mile, 2003 Mercury Sable GS wagon.

2003 Mercury Sable GS Wagon With 41K Miles - Exterior 002 - Rear Three Quarters

This Mercury Sable wagon is up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, and has just 41k miles showing on the odometer – a rather low sum for any vehicle that’s more than two decades old at this point. It has lived under three owners – all in the state of Maryland – since it was sold new, and doesn’t have any noted flaws marring its Silver Frost Clearcoat Metallic paint, though the the liftgate struts were recently replaced.

Inside the cabin, one will find Medium Graphite cloth covering the front two rows of seating, coupled with a gray vinyl folding rear-facing bench seat, along with woodgrain trim. Otherwise, this Mercury Sable is rather simple with a short list of amenities that includes a cassette stereo, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and cruise control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.0L V6 Vulcan engine, which sends 155 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.

Of course, this is just the latest nice Mercury Sable wagon we’ve seen pop up for auction as of late. That list continues to get longer, and includes a 2004 LS Premium model with 61k miles, another ’04 LS Premium with 37k miles, and a 2005 LS wagon with 29k miles – not to mention a 2004 Taurus wagon with 40k miles, and a 2005 Taurus wagon with 34k miles on the clock.
