Though it’s been discontinued for some time, there are still plenty of Ford Crown Victoria fans out there, and for good reason – there just aren’t any old fashioned, full-size, rear-wheel drive, comfy, V8-powered American sedans out there anymore. Thus, if one wants such a vehicle, they’re forced to turn to the used vehicle market, but luckily for them, there are still plenty of nice, low-mile Ford Crown Victoria sedans out there for the taking – including this 2004 model.
This 2004 Ford Crown Victoria LX is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer, and it has a pretty low 63k miles showing on the odometer, to boot. It’s currently with its third owner, and shows few signs of major use, though part of the front bumper cover has been refinished. Otherwise, its Vibrant White paint looks to be in great shape, and it’s also wearing a newer set of 225/60 Hankook Kinergy tires, to boot.
The same goes for the interior, which looks to be in great shape and contains quite a few amenities. Those include Light Flint leather-covered power-adjustable split front bench seat, along with woodgrain trim pieces, automatic climate control, power windows, and a CD/cassette stereo system. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to generate 224 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
Along with this gem of a Ford Crown Victoria, we’ve seen quite a few nice examples of these later Panther platform models hit the auction block as of late – a list that includes a 2005 Crown Vic LX with Sport with 10k miles, a 2011 model with 33k miles, and a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis with 41k miles, to name just a few.
We’ll have more cool auction finds like this to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Crown Victoria news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

I’m truly surprised they are not donating it to charity. Our large consolidated Sheriff’s Office switched cack to these Police Package monsters in the early 90’s. They handled terrible would take forever to accelerate from 50 to 100 MPH with the overrated 4.6 V8. These were take home, officer assigned vehicles but the maintenance was also through the roof.
The car truly looks showroom new.I would hope that it brings more than the current price.I have an 06 Mercury Grand Marquis that just turned over with 100k.It is a very nice riding and driving car.If you compare these older Panther cars to the new vehicles, they are a modern classic.
I bought 1986 Grand Marquis LS used, a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis LS new, a 2002 Grand Marquis 2002 LSE new, and a 2004 Mercury Marauder used. Enjoyed every one of these cars, maintenance expense was not an issue except for the air suspension on the Marauder. Unlike today, these where the days Ford knew how to make a profit on sedans, and quality control was excellent. Today, you have Failure Farley, and nonexistent quality control.
