2010 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost With Just 16K Miles Up For Auction

While we frequently come across all sorts of interesting modern rides with shockingly low mileage totals at collector car auctions around the web, strangely enough, that list hasn’t yet included a Lincoln MKS. We say strange because many other defunct American sedans from the recent past have quickly become coveted items these days, so one would assume that the MKS would also follow suit. That hasn’t been the case thus far, but that may change now that this very nice 2010 Lincoln MKS has hit the auction block.

2010 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost With 16K Miles - Exterior 002 - Rear Three Quarters

This 2010 Lincoln MKS is currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer with just 16k miles on the clock, and it has remained in New York since it was sold new years ago. It’s also a nicely equipped example of this model with loads of amenities, with no noted flaws marring its White Suede paint, nor its 19-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels. One will find modern features such as adaptive HID headlights, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, and LED taillights, however.

There’s a lot to like inside the cabin as well, with power-adjustable, heated, and cooled front seats upholstered in Cashmere Ultimate leather, coupled with Ebony wood trim throughout the cabin. Amenities are plentiful and include dual-zone automatic climate control, driver-seat position memory, power windows and locks, a powered rear sunshade, cruise control, SYNC infotainment, voice-activated navigation, and the THX II-certified surround-sound audio system.

Power for this Lincoln MKS comes from the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which was factory-rated to generate a stout 355 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. That power flows to all four wheels via the six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, too. In excellent condition with loads of equipment, this MKS is certainly an appealing auction offering – even if it doesn’t turn into a coveted collectible one day.

I feel the same but, in this case, think I can explain. Baby Boomers that give up driving. I looked at hundreds of houses in my last quest to find a retirement location (ended up building a new house) and I saw no less than 3 of these in garages. One former owner had died and the other 2 were in garages just for the kids to use when they visited. This might explain a percentage of what we’re seeing these days.

Too bad Ford has no idea on how to make a profit on sedans. Must be a combination of lousy management and an antiquated cost structure, or they’re infested with sedan-hating executives.
